Derdan Enterprises, a telecommunications services company, is a wholly owned sole proprietorship of Dan Huckans. Dan's telecommunications career began in 1974 as an installer for Theta Cable in Santa Monica, CA. Dan decided in 1989 to form his own business to provide field services to the booming telecommunications industry and Derdan Enterprises was born. Since that time, Derdan Enterprises has worked for most of the largest MSO's (past and present) in the U.S. to include Comcast, Charter, Cablevision, Adelphia, Media One, Time Warner and Cox Communications, among others. We can administer coax, HFC, and both single-mode and multi-mode fiber architectures. We have provided product consultations, design and engineering, cold plant splicing, hot plant splicing, C.O., hub, headend and environmental pedestal preparation and splicing. We have the ability to perform full fiber audits, as well as, providing immediate (24/7) emergency restoration, in both buried and aerial applications.
Derdan Enterprises has been certified, and owns the equipment necessary, to characterize fiber links with regards to PMD (Polarization Modal Dispersion) values and CD (Chromatic Dispersion), ORL (Optical Return Loss) measurements, power loss with a stabilized light source and referenced power meter. We have performed and continue to perform these services for AT&T, Level3, Quest, Bell South, MediaCom, Nortel, and others, complete with documentation.
The International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) has certified Derdan Enterprises for work that may need to be performed in traffic signal boxes and terminals.
